Sydney Experimental Arts Ensemble (S.X.A.E) is a project-based collective of Sydney-based freelance performing and visual artists. S.X.A.E will be using the space residency to work on two projects Bat Lake and Dinner Party.
Bat Lake is a dance film in development by independent dance company Sydney Experimental Arts Ensemble (S.X.A.E) scheduled to premiere in 2021. Bat Lake is a dark comedy exposing the underground ecosystems of bats and other villainous animals. The work aims to bare these misunderstood creatures, bring their complex characters to life and reveal what lies beneath their mystique and drama.
Dinner Party is an intersection of dance and theatre, this dance-centric cabaret style work directed by founding member Mitchell Christie will be performed at the Old Fitz Theatre in late 2021.
On Wednesday 24 March Allie Graham and Mitchell Christie invite you to join them for an informal showing of S.X.A.E's latest production (working title "Dinner Party"). This casual sharing will showcase the first development of a dance-centric, cabaret-esque production to be performed in late 2021.
Artists: Maxine Carlisle, Mitchell Christie, Eliza Cooper, Jessica Goodfelllow, Allie Graham, Emalyn Knight, Cassidy McDermott Smith, Mason Peronchik and Strickland Young.
