Yōkai draws from Japanese folklore to explore constellations of existence, consciousness and states of metamorphosis. In Japanese, yōkai refers to volatile shape-shifting creatures. Using a light sculpture to personify the ephemeral beast, the performers must navigate the borders of their contemporary yōkai, or in other words, what haunts them most.
