Ausdance NSW supported by the British Council presents Amy Butler’s masterclass introducing inclusive contemporary dance technique as practiced by StopGap Dance Company. It focuses on developing the ability to access many different qualities in the body through contact work and improvisation. The day will culminate in an exploration of restriction and the creativity that can develop from this with the opportunity to craft set group material.
Participating artists: Amy Butler is an UK based dance artist, currently working as a senior dance artist, mentor and rehearsal director for Stopgap Dance Company, rehearsal director for Akram Khan Company, specifically for the pieces Chotto Desh and the new re-work of Xenos, ChottoXenos, choreographic consultant for Highly Sprung and delivers intensives internationally, most recently for Solodos Danza in Costa Rica.
